The other choice is to use a whitening tray.  This is where the whitening gel is placed in a mouth tray and worn either over night or for a few hours a day over a number of weeks until the desired results are achieved.  This does work very well but obviously takes a lot longer and you will need to avoid staining foods and drinks durning this period of time.

Some people opt for a combination of the two treatments.  They attend a laser whitening session for one hour to lift of the worse of the stains and then use the trays as a way to maintain the level of whiteness wanted.
